Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

Bicycle Shops or Bicycle Accessories Outlets or Cycle Repairers

The Bike Shed

243-245 Cathedral Rd, Cardiff CF11 9PP, UK – 029 2066 8772

From the first time my wife and I entered the shop we felt happy and comfortable that we were dealing with "professionals". The obvious integrity, honesty and quality of service is refreshing and it has been a pleasure dealing with everyone. It is clear that their passion for cycling is something they would like the whole world to share. The time, patience and courtesy spent dealing with us "olds and newbies" has been very much appreciated. We have received sound advice, the opportunity to "try before we buy" and been given the confidence to get back on bikes after 50 years, Thank you A special vote of thanks to young Nick, an absolutely TOP young man, (especially having to deal with me). Professional, knowledgeable and courteous, a credit to The Bike Shed and to his generation.

Really friendly guys, replaced crank / bb, put on good replacements. They did a good job of double bar tape. Also nice shop with everything you might need.

A fantastic and very worthwhile project. My partner brought a bike here, and got excellent advice, a very good bike that was perfect for her needs, and wonderfully well set up. I'm going to get one myself now. Support them if you can.

Outdoor Cycles

82 Pwllmelin Rd, Cardiff CF5 2NH, UK – 029 2056 4367

Very good and honest bicycle mechanic, been there a few times and will definitely go again. Loads of variety in second hand bikes as well.

Upon my arrival in Cardiff, I was looking for a functional and comfortable 2nd hand bike I could see to commute in the city. I am very happy that I went to Outdoor Bikes: not only they had in stock what I needed for a reasonable price, I could also find all extras I needed like locks and lights, and help with the final set up. A very nice experience, and since, I simply enjoy the rides!

Bike Shed Wales

Lush shop, awesome staff and no hard sell. Recommended the bike that suited my needs best, not with the highest price tag! Can't praise them enough...

Really helpful when I was selecting a new bike. They sought out information for me to find the right bike to suit my requirements and were really understanding.

Halfords

Excelsior Road, Cardiff CF14 3AT, UK – 029 2062 1222

Absolutely amazing. Bought 2 BMX bikes from this store and the team there are awesome. Bikes ready a day before pick up. Everything explained fully. The staff here are always friendly and helpful..thank you guys 🤘

I shop at Halfords for all my car and bike needs. I’m not entirely sure these sales people give the most sound advice. I was sold something on recommendation to only find it this item was not compatible for my car which resulted in me having to return the item for another of a greater value, no apology or acknowledgement. Now I do the research at home and buy the product I actually need. This store is on the small side but they have most things there.
